A modern winery, signed by the famous architect Tobia Scarpa, located on the southernmost tip of Elba island.

Fattoria delle Ripalte, built in 1896 on the initiative of Count Tobler, is located on the southernmost tip of Elba island, in the heart of the Tuscan Archipelago: 450 hectares of Mediterranean maquis are the entire area.

The ancient fame remained and, in 2002, the property, with the collaboration of Piermario Meletti Cavallari, former owner of Grattamacco in Bolgheri, decided to enhance the wine-growing vocation of its land: TODAY 15 hectares of new vineyards occupy the best positions of the Estate dominated by modern cellar signed by renowned architect Tobia Scarpa. The vineyard is planted on difficult soils, stony and very drained (mostly terraced): the vine produces little but the quality of the grapes is high. The vineyard follows the philosophy of sustainable agriculture: limited use of synthetic chemical products for plant protection and fertilization treatments mainly organic.

The current production consists of 60,000 mixed bottles (120,000 at full capacity) divided into:

White Ripalte Costa IGT Toscana Vermentino, Ripalte Rosato IGT Toscana Rosato Costa d'Aleatico 100%, Red Ripalte IGT Toscana Costa Alicante and L'Elba Aleatico Passito DOCG, flagship product of the company and the typical island d'Elba. The selection of varieties has been to favor the typical varieties of the Mediterranean basin that best describing their characteristics and exalt the qualities of this island.

The Winery of Fattoria delle Ripalte, which started operating in 2010, was conceived and created by the great architect and designer Tobia Scarpa.
Simplicity, functionality and insertion in the landscape are the three characteristics of this project; a local stone construction inserted in a wild landscape, which recalls the industrial architecture of the nearby mines of Calamita and Ginevro.

The building is spread over three levels and responds to the logic of the transfer of products by means of gravity while the roofing of the cellar consists of a terrace used for drying the grapes with an incredible view of the surrounding vineyards and the coasts of the island and the other islands of the archipelago.
The new cellar is a real work tool, all functions have their own space and a logical production path.
The visit path follows it faithfully, allows you to understand the processing cycle and ends with the tasting room and a small shop for direct sales.

Tenuta delle Ripalte is a Resort that covers 450 hectares in the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.

There it is possible to stay in a small Hôtel de Charme, in apartments that have been created in the old farmhouses and in splendid villas strewn over the property’s 12 km of coastline. All of this is surrounded by 15 hectares of vineyards, which make the most of the wine-growing qualities of the land and take the estate back to the ancient origins of the prestigious Ripalte Farm and Tobler Farm. Nature, silence and seascape are the elements that feature most strongly in a stay on the Tenuta delle Ripalte Resort.

2 restaurants, 3 beaches with full facilities, tennis courts, horse riding, a diving school, mountain biking and activities for children are all on offer at Tenuta, to complete an unforgettable experience.

The winegrowing project, has involved the cultivation of a 16.5 hectares vineyard. Much of the land is dedicated to the cultivation of the typical grape variety of Elba Island: the Aleatico; whose grapes are used for the production of sweet wine: Aleatico Passito (5000 half bottles, of the Rosato FROM Aleatico grapes (about 18,000 bottles) and of the Brut Rosè Spumante (10.000bt) .

A very small output of Grappa (around 300 bottles) exclusively distilled from Aleatico marc is made by Capovilla; in Rosà (Vicenza).

In the Gorgaccio vinyard, facing east and in those of the "Pascoli Alti " at 350 meters above sea level; where the climate is cooler, it produces the "Bianco delle Ripalte"- IGT Costa Toscana Vermentino about 25,000 bottles). A fragrant wine; decided in taste with an excellent flavor.

The "Rosso delle Ripalte" is produced from grapes of Alicante (Grenache) and Carignano, common to the whole Mediterranean basin and well adapted to arid and dry climate of Elba. The result is truly extraordinary: a Mediterranean red "different" from the great character, harmonious and finish with a surprisingly elegant that fits very well with seafood dishes typical of the Tuscan coast.

4 hectares of vineyards producing around 15,000 bottles per year.

In the best vitages with the best grapes we prodiuce few bottles of Bianco Mediterraneo (Vermentino with some Fiano) and Rosso Mediterraneo (only Alicante).
